Some of our clients – ask ” Do people really search for local services online ?”. One of the ways you can learn if people search for that item is to go to the free Wordtracker Keyword Research tool. Wordtracker uses deals with dogpile and metacrawler to give an approximate amount of searches for each keyword. Often times people are surprised how many people search for their product a day.

Is there any way to do it if I am not a” computer guy “? ” Many people are not comfortable with the Internet and are overwhelmed by the time commitment. Is there any way to shorten the learning curve – or hire someone cheaply. This may be one of the hardest questions to answer. Most good Search Marketers do not want to deal for under $ 1,000 a month – it’s just not worth their time.

There are a couple of options available to any business owner even if they are not savvy.

1) Start your own website, and publish content there at least once a month. If you do not know how to buy a domain name even- build a blog builder – like Typepad, or WordPress, and sign up for a free account. This will allow you to slowly get used to creating content online.

2) Sign up with Ingenio.com – they have pay per call, you do not even need a website

3) If you have a budget of $ 600 or more, there are a number of small business search service providers locally. They each have different pay structures and options
